Whether you’ve seen her on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Chelsea Lately, or VH1’s oddly addictive I Love the ’70s/’80s/’90s series, comedian Loni Love has been part of your pop culture channel surfing. In the early days of her comedy career, she was defeated on Star Search, which further proves that those who go home losers eventually enjoy the most successful careers. These days, Love’s life is a far cry from the days when she used to piece together Oldsmobiles to pay her rent.
Love’s signature, smart-ass stand-up recently landed her a one-hour Comedy Central special called America’s Sister, not to mention a spot on Variety’s list of “10 Comics to Watch.” And this Thursday at 8:30 p.m., Ms. Loni Love will take her talents to the Miami Improv, with performances through Sunday.
