Keep Miami New Times Free

Never mind the retailing. For that, smaller malls — or, God bless ’em, stand-alone stores — will suffice. Dolphin Mall is more city that shoppery, complete with a covert subcity that houses the control system of its mighty ebb and flow, and a 24-hour crew of workers that keeps the whole mess running. The sprawling collection of oversize merchandisers has its drawbacks, sure, but it also happens to be the place, the only place, to enjoy one of South Florida’s best and most indigenous bands, the mighty and mighty fun Locos por Juana, at a free show called Tu Ciudad, Tu Música.
All is worth enduring to see the nine-piece, noisy, vibrant, exuberant band. Locos captures everything that’s good about Latin Miami and blasts it out with rockin’ verve and nerve. The appearance will be unnecessarily enhanced by prize giveaways and other hoopla. Use Entrance 3 to access Ramblas Plaza. The festivities run from 4:00 to 8:00; Locos plays at 7:00.
