Since its founding in 1987, Miami New Times has become a cultural touchstone in South Florida. Today, we rely on advertising support and contributions from our members to keep our journalism free and accessible.
Even as we evolve digitally across our website, newsletters, and social media to better serve our readers where they want their news, we still proudly produce a free weekly print issue, distributing 15,500 print papers to more than 1,000 newsstands across Miami.
Want to see your art on the cover?
New Times seeks local freelance illustrators and designers to help us take our cover art to the next level. We already work with some very talented illustrators and designers, but we are looking to expand our roster.
Applicants should be based in or near the Miami metro area and have a creative edge that is ready for Miami to see. We love working with both up-and-coming artists and seasoned artists.
If you’re interested, please email your resume and work samples to editorial@miaminewtimes.com. When emailing, please type FREELANCE ILLUSTRATOR in the subject line.
New Times believes our journalism will best serve our communities with a culturally diverse staff and freelancers who offer a range of voices. We are committed to creating and sustaining an environment of inclusion, diversity, empowerment, and equality. We are at our best when all our team members are respected and included, regardless of race, age, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, and national origin. Women, veterans, people with disabilities, people of color, and gender-nonconforming candidates are highly encouraged to pitch us.
