Michael Moore released his latest documentary, Slacker Uprising, for free on the web, which is a bit of annoyance for true slackers. As if they’re going to double-click and wait a few hours for the thing to download. Way too much work. If only there were a place one could go to watch a film someone has, like, already downloaded — and that person would even press play. All the slacker would have to do is sit and eat popcorn. We used to have something like that, right? What were they called? Oh, movie theaters!
The Miami Beach Film Society is screening the flick — which follows Moore on a college tour trying to rev up student voters — at the Miami Beach Cinematheque Wednesday night at 8:30.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $18,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
