Jeff Foxworthy has authored the best-selling comedy albums of all time. His first two You Might Be a Redneck if… releases went triple-platinum. Triple-platinum! (We’ll give you a moment to absorb that.) How’d he do it? How did he outsell everyone from Bill Cosby to David Cross? Easy. He herded America’s lost sheep. They’re the ones roaming Wal-Mart on free sample day for exercise, the ones with soft spots for Cheez Whiz and window decals of Calvin pissing on pretty much anything. Sarah Palin calls them “hard-working,” but we know that’s just folksy speak for “blue-collar.”
When Foxworthy shows up with Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy at the BankAtlantic Center this Saturday for the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, the rest of South Florida will look like the friggin’ Rapture has hit; half its denizens will be inside.
