Jeff Dunham is America’s most famous redneck ventriloquist. But his conservative fans might not adore him so much if they knew his stand-up consists of fisting male Islamists and rubbing illegal immigrants’ sticks. Achmed the Dead Terrorist and Jose Jalapeño on a Stick, an actual Mexican jalapeño who might or might not be here legally, are two of Dunham’s puppets. Check out Achmed on YouTube, one of the most widely viewed videos online, where a skeleton suicide bomber has a “premature detonation.” Our other favorite character is Walter, a Vietnam vet who is so curmudgeonly he shouted down Paul Shaffer’s live band on Late Show With David Letterman.
