Grovetoberfest, Florida’s biggest beer bash, sloshes into Coconut Grove this Friday, and the daylong brew fest rivals the best of its German brethren. If you’re a connoisseur of suds, it’s time to let your beer flag fly.
Peacock Park (2820 McFarlane Rd., Coconut Grove) will overflow with craft brews from around the globe — more than 250 of them, from breweries including New Belgium, Sweetwater, Goose Island, Cigar City, Funky Buddha, and dozens of others.
Attendees can wander the grounds of “the most scenic beer festival in the world” (not that you’ll notice your surroundings with all the guzzling you’ll be doing), watch saucy cooking demos, get schooled in homebrewing, listen to live tunes, and buy tasty nibbles.
Local notables will offer food and beer pairings at Milam’s Kitchen Lab, breweries will choose the city’s best homebrew during a battle royal, and brew newbies can learn a thing or two at the workshop Beer Tasting 101. It’s a beer lover’s wet dream. There will even be a safe ride home program. What more could you ask of an afternoon of imbibing?
