Keep Miami New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $7,500 by April 26. Your support ensures Miami New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
Unless a heart of stone is part of your anatomy, doe-eyed homeless dogs and cats are bound to melt you like so much butter. As anyone who’s ever fallen prey to a Sarah McLachlan tune and a lonely-looking shelter pup knows, there’s no cause more compelling than helping adorable adoptables.
Since 1998, the compassionate crew at Caring About the Strays has given its all to the homeless dogs and cats of South Florida. From feeding more than 200 colony cats to rescuing, neutering, and housing out countless critters, they’re all about saving lives. And you can support ’em this Saturday by hitting up happy hour at Batch Gastropub (50 SW 12th St., Miami).
For a donation, you can score a cocktail and appetizers, mix and mingle with other animal lovers, and enjoy the feel-good fuzzies that come with helping homeless pets.
Take along extra cash for the raffle. They’ll have goodies like kayaking for two at a marina in Naples, dinner certificates for restaurants like Barmeli and the Cheesecake Factory, and pet swag from CritterZone and Oma’s Pride.
