If the Wynwood Art Walk has taught us anything besides what an amazing level of talent and creativity Miami has to offer, it’s that cops love food trucks, it’s okay to keep your kids out late for the sake of art, culture is blazing through the streets like a wildfire, and the fight for sales is pushing the artists and gallery owners to a new and higher plane of creative output. Competition is good. New York is alright if you like saxophones, and when Art Basel hits in just a few months, Wynwood is going to smash on the world’s stage like a sledgehammer through a crystal ball. For now, here are some pictures of some of what we saw on Saturday night.
We didn’t see a whole lot of red dots during the art walk, but that can only be because there was so much work to look at that collectors are probably doing all their shopping, wheeling, and dealing today.
