If you missed the grand opening of the glittering Pérez Art Museum Miami (1103 Biscayne Blvd., Miami) during the madness of Art Basel, don’t fret for a minute. You can take in the dazzling architectural gem this Thursday, when the museum unfurls the inaugural edition of PAMM Presents, a dynamic musical hoedown featuring a diverse lineup of internationally acclaimed DJs and musicians. It all takes place every third Thursday of the month from 6 to 9 p.m. in what promises to become the Magic City’s most exciting experimental happy hour. PAMM kicks off the series with the bold sonic artistry of Nguzunguzu, the Los Angeles-based duo of Asma Maroof and Daniel Pineda, who are genre-benders that transcend musical borders and aural atmospheres to weave a distinct sound that immerses body and soul with an affecting electronic club vibe. And if their self-described “sad, sexy, scary” sound doesn’t bring a tear to your eye, the painfully beautiful Herzog & de Meuron-designed cultural castle on Biscayne Bay, not to mention the scrumptious food and libations at the Verde restaurant and bar under PAMM’s iconic hanging Babylonian gardens, just might leave you sniffling with joy.
