Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Yo P-Lo, this is C-Lo. I just want to say, I dig your groove.
For those of you as yet unfamiliar with the P-Lo in question, he is none other than Patrick Lopez (no relation), the man behind the P-Lo Project, a super smooth sampling of some seriously cool jazz with a twist. He’s a singer and a composer, and he’s equally comfortable behind a keyboard as he is wailing on his trumpet.
The twist is that on the P-Lo project Lopez incorporates electronic beats and rhythms, lending a modern flair and undeniable dance influence to the classic jazz modes that tears from his fingertips.
See P-Lo push the envelope in person tomorrow night, Upstairs at the Van Dyke.
