Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
As a platform for avant-garde poetry, dance, music, and film, Tigertail Productions is always giving us fabulous bites of art and culture to chew on, and it’s high time we return the love. While we’re sure the company enjoys the standing ovations you’ve given so far, tonight you can show your support by taking your tail to the Ichimura Japanese Garden for Tigertail’s annual fundraiser. This year’s theme is Moon over Miami, and though the title was inspired by the Forties film of the same name, you’ll surely moon over all of the fabulous art on display and up for grabs in the silent auction.
Vicki Richards will be rocking out on her Indian-style violin, Magda Machado will croon Brazilian love songs, and DJ Ssandro will be spinning all night, so your musical appetite will be satisfied. And the open bar and great food will sate that other yen. Guests are asked to come dressed in white or really get in the spirit and wear an Asian or Forties-inspired outfit. It takes place from 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets cost $100, and each buck helps support the awesome work Tigertail does. Call 305-545-8546 or visit www.tigertail.org/events_moon.html to purchase tickets.
