Maybe you take the Cupid Shuffle a bit too seriously. Maybe every Gloria Estefan song makes you completely freak out. If you’re addicted to dance, April is your time to bust it out and celebrate all things movement. Artistry in Rhythm (AIR): Engaging the Community is a conference that brings local instructors, choreographers, and dancers to Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus (11011 SW 104th St., Miami) for three days of master classes, professional development lectures, demonstrations, and performances. Marking its third year, the conference will also introduce Unearthing Dance: Perspective, Pedagogy, and Practice Gala this Tuesday. The gala’s guest speaker, Professor Michelle Grant-Murray, will present a synopsis of her new book, Beyond the Surface: American Dance History. AIR will register participants for the conference Tuesday through Thursday on a first-paid, first-registered basis. Once maximum capacity is reached, AIR will be unable to accept additional participants. Call 305-237-2426.
