Some might call actor/writer/director Zach Braff the voice of our angsty, noncommittal generation. With Garden State, he tapped into the inner sanctum of the perpetually immature, and his newest effort, All New People, has been called “the defining play of a generation.”
The show centers around depressed protagonist Charlie, who’s planning to end it all on his 35th birthday. But a cast of offbeat characters buzzes by to lift him out of his 30-something sorrow. The performance takes the stage at the Adrienne Arsht Center’s intimate Carnival Studio Theater (1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami), so you can sit snugly with fellow theatergoers and commiserate about your First-World problems.
Score a seat, because Mr. Braff has a lot more going for him than just Scrubs silliness.
