TV land is all abuzz about the writers’ strike, and avid couch potatoes — us included — have been losing their minds with all the reruns. And since it looks as if the strike has no end, and we’ve watched every DVD in our collection, we’ve taken to exploring other means of seated entertainment. Tonight at 8 (primetime!) you’ll find us at the Carnival Center (1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami) for the Broadway classic My Fair Lady.
This tale of a pompous professor’s attempt to transform the happily ignorant Eliza Doolittle into a proper English lady is a timeless classic of stage and screen. This incarnation commemorates the 50th anniversary of a story that has been retold and remixed in the romantic comedy She’s All Thatand even the TV show Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School. Trust us — seeing the original will make you forget about television, even if only for a few hours. The show runs until the December 23, and tickets range from $20 to $68.
