Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Mornin’, Miami!
Did you party too hard at III Points this weekend? Drink your sorrows away after the Dolphins’ loss yesterday? Or do you just hate mornings?
If you’re dragging this a.m., then congratulations — you have something in common with Miley Cyrus. The sketch was just one of several that fell flat last night in an episode of SNL that was especially disappointing after Tina Fey’s appearance last week. (If you haven’t yet seen her Girls spoof, get on that already.) Not that most people had high hopes for Cyrus, who’s been riding high on a wave of public disgust since her performance at the VMAs.
On the upside, though, at least this sketch didn’t turn Miami into one giant, coked out, Latin-accented stereotype. Way to, uh, show restraint?
