Ayesha D’Mello is on a mission to spice up Miami, and she’s armed with an arsenal of recipes that would have made George Dubya back down and retreat. In a city where you can count the Indian restaurants on one hand, her cooking classes have foodies buzzing about the tantalizing dishes she makes. For just $75 per person, D’Mello will walk eager students through the creation of cuisine that pays homage to a country where cumin seed, coriander, and turmeric reign supreme. “I typically teach six to eight dishes, and my philosophy is that they are quick to prepare, healthy, and easy for people to make at home,” D’Mello says.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, don’t miss All About Indian Breads, and once you’ve finished slaving in the kitchen, enjoy the meal alfresco under D’Mello’s tiki hut. You’ll leave with a couple of recipes and a full belly. Prepaid registration is required, and seating is limited, so call 305-254-0693 or email easyindiancooking@yahoo.com to reserve your delicious spot.
