Like with retirees and cocaine cartels, South Florida was once known for its Jews. That might be in the past, but for one night this weekend and an afternoon matinee the next day, it’ll be easy to pretend the old yentas and their mishpokhe never left.

World of Jewtopia, a comedic crash course in modern Judaism, will be at the Alper JCC this Saturday and Sunday. The story of a gentile who wants to marry a Jewish girl so he won’t have to make another decision, Jewtopia is performed by stand-up comedians Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson. The play has received rave reviews during its off-Broadway run in New York and is now traveling around the country to equal amounts of adulation. Gentiles are especially encouraged to attend. After all, Uncle Sal always had a thing for shiksas.
