Things that are awesome: Quality musical theater. The city of London. The nostalgic feeling you get when you see a former Spice Girl on the stage.
Things that are not awesome: Transatlantic flights in coach. Jet lag. The exchange rate between the American dollar and the British pound.
So while flying all the way to England to see Jesus Christ Superstar live and in person in London might sound like fun at first, it’s probably more trouble than it’s worth. Better to stay in Miami and catch the show on the screens at the Regal Cinemas South Beach (1100 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach). The show was originally recorded Oct. 4-5 all the way across the pond, with Sporty Spice, aka Melanie Chisolm, in the role of Mary Magdalene. And it’s now playing in special two-nights-only events at select theaters across the country. (Regal Cinemas will show the musical again Nov. 1.)
