Ah, prom. Teenagers everywhere are preparing for this rite of passage. Ideally it should be a romantic evening of friends, laughter, and totally awesome outfits. Seventeen magazine and JC Penney will demonstrate how it should be done. Visit Aventura Mall today for the Rock Your Prom fashion show. The event will feature local ingénues. “Our readers want to see girls of all types and all sizes. We’re gonna show them how to make a dress look hot and trendy but still affordable,” says Seventeen style pro Kristi D’Aliso. “This year is all about bright colors, a lot of oranges and greens, paired with lots of accessories. It’s all about layering necklaces and bangle bracelets,” she says. Guests will rock out with a musical performance by Marcos Hernandez and receive goody bags. Anyone who buys a prom dress will receive a $15 JC Penney gift card.
