With his stovepipe hat and raspy delivery, singer Bob Malone models himself after piano legends Dr. John and Professor Longhair. Though his look may be familiar, his songwriting and singing style is closer to Billy Joel than the nitty-gritty New Orleans legends. Still, the New Jersey homeboy’s songs are witty and heartfelt, if not overly sentimental. He’s been compared with everybody from Bob Dylan to Tom Waits. It makes you wonder where his true and genuine voice is hiding. However intentionally, Malone describes his personality quandary in his song “Sometimes I Wish I Were Me.” So do we. Living in the U.S. for more than a decade, Argentine singer Stella Milano has provided vocal accompaniment for tango performances in Miami during the past eight years. Most of the time she has faced a Latin crowd where, surprisingly, there weren’t many of her fellow countrymen around. “My audience mostly includes Cubans, Colombians, and Hondurans, but tango is loved by all Latin Americans,” says Milano. In fact folks of all nationalities have enjoyed Milano’s skill with the stirring Argentine art form in shows like New Age Tango. Tonight they’ll have yet another chance when Milano, bandoneón player Richard Scofano, choreographer Soledad Centurión, and dancers Lorena and Francisco perform in Tanguerísimo at 10:30 at the Roxy Performing Art Center, 1645 SW 107th Ave. Call 305-226-0030 for details. — By Javier Andrade

He was the gawky hipster doofus with the vintage wardrobe and the vertical hair in the premier sitcom of the 1990s, Seinfeld. Author, inventor, underwear model, entrepreneur, Cosmo Kramer was a loathsome, offensive brute — yet people couldn’t look away. However, he never sang. Until now, sort of. The frontman of local band Kramer Goes Berserk oozes hipster doofus charm as he belts out rockabilly and classic rock tunes while, yes, going berserk.
