You used to be the happy-go-lucky type, but utility bills, Facebook, and other adult responsibilities have forced you to stray from the spice of life — board games. Remember how exhilarating it was to find out that Colonel Mustard had clocked a muthafucka in the library with a candlestick? Or the feeling of triumph you had dropping that last red chip and yelling, “Connect Four!”? Well, Playdate Miami wants you to relive those moments. Only this time, there’ll be cocktails and potential dates, and you’ll have the life experiences that’ll help you be a better cheater, um, player. This Thursday at the Hilton Miami Downtown, show off your architectural acumen during a game of Jenga or your digital dexterity at the Rock ’Em Sock ’Em Robots table. And no more waiting to get asked to join the game like you used to; if you have $15, you’re in. The games begin at 8 p.m. and roll until 2 in the morning.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,750 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
