There’s nothing like a scenic ride through a quaint part of town to get your existential engines revving. Cozy, quiet spots are a rarity in Miami, so when the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID) organizes a bike tour over the cobblestones and around the greenery, it’s perfectly refreshing. The bike tour is led by Royal Palm Tours of Miami’s Frank Schena, who curates every tour with unique themes and different stops each weekend. Although the theme for this week’s tour has yet to be announced, it will surely feature nature, landmarks, and plenty of local history.
Beginning this Saturday and lasting through the first three months of 2015, the Historic & Eco Friendly Bicycle Tours of Coconut Grove will take place the first and third Saturday of each month. The rendezvous point for this Saturday’s tour will be behind Calamari Restaurant (3540 Main Hwy., Coconut Grove). The free tour will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and last until about 11:30 a.m. Take your own bike, and prepare for a trek.
