If you thought partaking in some serious Jedi mind tricks was the only way to defy gravity on the weekdays, guess again. There’s an alternative every Thursday night. The Coconut Grove Juggling Exchange (an affiliate of the International Juggling Association) has been meeting at the UM Student Union breezeway for more than 20 years, and every week members teach interested Miamians of all ages to juggle anything from beanbags to plungers. Seasoned juggling vets and klutzes alike are invited to attend and attempt tossing their objects of choice in the air.

For more adventuresome types, there are also occasional lessons in juggling fire torches and riding unicycles (call ahead to make sure these lessons are being offered when you go). Remember to bring a couple of light props, although Dave and Pete of the CGJE might lend you a few if you ask. Toss it up from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Thu., Aug. 30, 8-10 p.m.
