Our daddies taught us two important lessons in life: Never start a land war in Asia, and never play dominoes against a guy with a Puerto Rican flag tattooed on his arm. We’ve done pretty well avoiding the first, but this Saturday at the second annual AT&T North Beach Tropical Music and Sports Festival, we might have some trouble avoiding the second.

Totally free and open to all ages, the festival will celebrates Latino culture by offering a bevy of family activities such as volleyball and domino competitions, dance lessons, and concerts. This Saturday, the musical headliner on the North Beach Bandshell amphitheater stage will be Frankie Negrón, one of the young guns of modern salsa innovation. Prepare to eat great food, wear your sunscreen, and don’t put money on the line when you’re playing bones against any viejo over 60. The festival begins at 2 p.m. and goes until 9.
