You know that feeling, the one you get after you eat way too much. It’s gross, gluttonous, and guilty, all rolled into one foul package. And there’s only one way to avoid it. Eat healthful portions? Please — we meant one achievable way. And that’s to do your overeating at the United Way Miami Wine & Food Festival.
The gorging begins Wednesday at Brews & Bites at Mary Brickell Village (901 S. Miami Ave., Miami), with tastings of 50 craft beers and microbrews alongside bites from area restaurants. Swap beer for wine, and you can do it all over again at the Village of Merrick Park (358 San Lorenzo Ave., Coral Gables) during Thursday’s Taste & Toast Fine Wine Tasting. Friday brings the Food, Friends & Fun interactive dinner with Johnson & Wales students, and it all wraps up Saturday at the Fontainebleau (4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach) with Cellar-bration, featuring — you guessed it — even more tasty, highly caloric food and drink.
So how exactly will these events prevent postmeal depression? They’ll all benefit the United Way, so while you might feel gross and gluttonous, there’s no guilt necessary.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,800 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
