“I’m a guido. That’s my shit,” Bret Ernst declared in the movie Wild West Comedy Show, which documents a 30-night, 30-venue comedy tour featuring Ernst and three other comedians. A native of New Jersey with South Florida ties (he graduated from Plantation High), Ernst has gained momentum that’s been easy to track. Along with catching the ear of famous Hollywood actors, Ernst has been a featured comedian for Comedy Central Presents, Showtime’s Comics Without Borders, and BET’s One Mic Stand.
But Ernst’s comedic accomplishments and acting roles, which include parts on Showtime’s Weeds, the feature film Beer League, and guest spots on CSI: NY, can’t even touch the comedian’s latest endeavor: hosting Oxygen’s new series Love Games: Bad Girls Need Love Too. For some reason, the New Jersey guido and a bunch of skanky troubled girls seem like a match made in Jersey Shore heaven.
