Wednesday night, Dutch DJ Afrojack (AKA Nick van de Wall) will do a solo DJ set at Mansion. What’s with the name? Van de Wall does not currently sport an Afro, nor is he particularly jacked. Nonetheless, his talents have been called upon by superstars such as David Guetta (who Afrojack claims is like a “big brother”), the Black Eyed Peas, and fellow Dutchman, Tiësto. Before he crash-lands on South Beach’s Washington Avenue, Afrojack will make stops in Italy, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
Last time Afrojack descended onto Miami’s shores, he and Steve Aoki duked it out in a DJ battle. Who won? Who really cares? After Afrojack debuted on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list at number 19 this year, we doubt he cares much either. Especially considering Aoki’s theatrics only got him to number 103.
