Keep Miami New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $7,500 by April 26. Your support ensures Miami New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
If you’re still crashing hard from your Pain & Gain-fueled adrenaline rush and meathead fantasyland at the theater this weekend, not to worry. A few cafecitos and some LOLZ cats will remind you that you’re not, in fact, a member of the Sun Gym gang. Nor do you have the epic brawn of Marky Mark or the Rock. In the light of day, you have no muscle tone, you’re scared of needles (ruling out roids), and you wouldn’t hurt a fly.
So goodbye to delusions of grandeur and hello to Monday morning reality. Until next weekend’s escapism, here are some free ways to pass the time – none of which involve heavy lifting.
Monday
Free Screening of Ni Rojo, Ni Verde, Azul! At Blackbird Ordinary: Check out a critically acclaimed overview of the Cuba’s art and music movement – and mingle with Miami’s hipster masses.
Tuesday
Brickell Art Walk: Get your art on in the yuppie paradise otherwise known as Brickell.
Friday
First Friday Artwalk in Downtown: Eyeball works by some of Miami’s best including the TM Sisters, Dimensions Variable and Bas Fisher Invitational as you kick off your weekend with some cultural-relevance.
