It’s the Monday before Valentine’s Day, so you’ve got exactly three days to latch on to some new sucker — or plan the perfect V-Day so your current partner doesn’t send you packing. Whether you’re scrambling to find a significant other so your Facebook status doesn’t read “single” or desperately trying to avoid getting dumped, this week’s prospects don’t look so hot.
To take your mind off of all things love, here are some free events for the week. Oh, but if you’re feeling bitter and jaded (this is Miami, who isn’t?), you might wanna skip The Notebook screening. Just sayin’.
Wednesday
- Men in Black at SoundScape: Screw shelling out $15 to see a new release. Flash back to 1997 when Will Smith was still rapping and Tommy Lee Jones had both feet out of the grave.
Friday
- J Beatz and Da Beatz at Big Night in Little Haiti: Not just one beatz, but two will take the stage at this Little Haiti block party. Let the kiddos get their Picasso on while you soak up the scenery.
- The Notebook at Brickell World Plaza: Because everyone loves crying in public, join dozens of others in a session of group hysteria while watching the most infamous tear-jerker of all time.
