Free Events This Week in Miami: Labyrinth, Burlesque, and Sea Turtles

Monday

• Musicians’ Forum at New World Center: Hear the Symphony Fellows perform their favorite and personally selected works of music.

Tuesday

• Vaudeville at Canvas: Enjoy the aerial talents of burlesque troupe Circ X, plus games, grub, and cocktails (and a second night of circus fun Thursday).
• Afghan Women’s Writing Project at Le Chat Noir: Take part of this powerful poetry event sharing the stories of Afghan women by reading one of their works, or responding to one in your own words.
• Labyrinth at Shirley’s: Your leftover 4/20 buzz thanks you. Dance, magic, dance!

Wednesday

• The Acoustic Carpet at Canvas: Savor the sounds of Raffa Jo Harris and sip complimentary PBR, brew by Mad Chiller, and organic bites by 221 Cafe. 
• Sea Turtle: The Lost Years premiere at Deering Estate: Part of the “Speaking Sustainably” film & lecture series, this film explores research conducted to track the creatures’ journey from nest to sea.

Thursday

• EMERGE Exhibition at African Heritage Cultural Arts Center: Catch the opening reception for this exhibition showcasing four of Miami’s most esteemed visual artists, Donald McKnight, Johnnie Bess, Marc Janllwi, and Julia Polonyi.
• Franklin Sirmans at Locust Projects: Sirmans, department head and renowned curator of contemporary art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, is the guest of this Locust Talk series.

Friday

• The Fontainebleau On Film at MDC Wolfson Archives: Dive into the glitz of Miami’s most famous hotel through the Lynn and Louis Wolfson Moving Image Archives and excerpts from its many films appearances.
