Want to get a jump-start on the Fourth of July festivities and catch an important midseason divisional baseball game? Head to Marlins Park (501 Marlins Way, Miami) this Thursday when the Miami Marlins take on the Philadelphia Phillies in the final game of a midweek series.
The Marlins have been one of the surprise success stories of the MLB season and are in a good position to challenge for a wild-card spot — if they can keep it up. The Phillies, with their losing record and last-place position in their division, shouldn’t put up much of a fight. Then again, it’s Independence Day weekend; maybe the ghost of Ben Franklin will swoop in to spoil the day for the Marlins. Who knows.
