When was the last time it snowed in Miami?
In what type of natural region does the Everglades sit?
Who is Julia Tuttle?
Knowing the answers to these questions might not get you far in life, unless you happen to be a contestant on Jeopardy! during “Floriduh” theme night. But those answers can at least get you to Lester’s (2519 NW Second Ave., Miami) for Flawed but Fabulous South Florida Trivia Night tonight.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.

Lester’s has teamed up with WLRN for a trivia night that’s all about South Florida’s quirks and charms. Expect questions regarding little-known facts about our region’s local history, culture, pop culture, real estate, biology — anything goes.
In addition to answers culled from the smarties at Miami’s public radio station, event organizers asked locals to submit their own questions for consideration. Based on Miami’s wealth of bizarre factoids, and trivia nerds’ natural instinct to stump their opponents with the most unusual questions possible, we’re expecting some truly bizarre queries.
Teams of six or fewer will compete for prizes and the honorable title of “Smartest Locals.” And no, cell phones will not be allowed, so if you think you can get away with summoning Siri, think again.
The game begins tonight, August 1, at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free but is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The maximum number of participants is 70, so get there early (or at least on time) if you want to play. Call 305-456-1784 or visit the event Facebook page.
