Week three of the Miami Dolphins’ season marks the second home game of a nightmarish first quarter. Though the team’s first game against the Cleveland Browns was a precarious, yet optimistic, glimpse at what the Fins might be able to accomplish this season, have no doubt they are in the midst of fighting for their football lives. Second-year starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill is doing his best to play the part of franchise messiah. He still has the monumental task of overcoming a shockingly horrible offensive line and a running game that is as capable of gaining yards on the ground as Miley Cyrus is capable of becoming an astrophysicist. The Dolphins will face last year’s NFC championship runners-up Atlanta Falcons this Sunday at Sun Life Stadium (2269 NW 199th St., Miami Gardens). The Falcons are looking to build on their Super Bowl aspirations from last year, adding All-Pro running back Stephen Jackson to an already-lethal offense that features Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez, and Roddy White. Fins fans hope this matchup will mark the team’s breakout against a superior opponent and not become an at-home beatdown.
