Six months after America’s most devastating natural disaster struck New Orleans, the city struggled back to its feet to host Mardi Gras. With determination and passion, revelers and colorful floats took to the French Quarter, and for three bacchanalian days the air filled with music and tossed beads. If you weren’t lucky enough to make it to Bourbon Street this year, celebrate Miami style while relaxing by the water. Today’s Jazz Brunch on the Bay will pay homage to the lasting cultural legacy of New Orleans. Enjoy the sounds and tastes of the Big Easy with live bands, chow down on Crescent City delights including gumbo and jambalaya, and check out an impressive display of classic cars today from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Margaret Pace Park. Admission is free. Call 305-642-1271.
