Yes, we’ve all heard of going green, but when you start recycling trends, well, we’re thinking it’s a bit much. Season after season people strain their necks to hear the fashion elite whisper what the new trends will be. Except, rarely are they actually new.

It’s not that we mind seeing the oldies but goodies again and again, we just hate when they’re dubbed the latest trend when they are in fact sooo 2010.

This year is proving to be no different. Magazines, web sites, and blogs are all raving about this spring’s hottest trends. These are trends we’ve been rocking for years! We are either way ahead of the fashion game or these guys have nothing new to give us. Although we’d love to believe it’s the former, it’s more than likely the latter. Here are the top five been-there-done-that trends for spring.

1.    Blue nails
Please don’t tell us this is the “it” color of the

season. Our ten little toes have been donning OPI’s Russin Navy and Sephora for OPI’s Havana Dreams

for years now.

2.    Neons
Neons? In style? Really?? No way! Yes way and they’ve been

in style intermittently since that decade we lovingly call the 1980s.

3.    Flushed cheeks
Um. It’s called blush (or a jog). We’ve heard of

it, and we’ve worn it in pink, peach, tawny, orange, the weird one that

looks red but comes out pink, the sticky kind, the powder kind, the kind

you can also use on your eyes and lips, the sparkly one and the matte

one. So unless you’ve come up with something that covers the cellulite

on our other cheeks, don’t list this as a ‘new spring trend.’

4.    Safari
The khaki, the pockets, the brown zebra print, we know.

5.    Floral
Wearing flowery prints in spring, imagine that. Possibly our pick for most original.

We are praying to the fashion gods for something actually new. We can’t

justify shopping for a new season when the latest “it” thing has been

sitting in our closet for years.
