Keep Miami New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $7,500 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
Anyone who’s worked in a windowless warehouse at a commercial park knows the highlight of the day for years was the noon arrival of the roach coach. Serving victuals one step up from fish chum, and one notch down from airline food, these carts were the first iteration of meals on wheels. But it seems nothing is safe from gentrification. Miami is now teeming with food trucks stocked full of gourmet eats: Think black plum ribs with gingered Brussel sprouts, and chorizo and sirloin burgers with Oaxaca cheese and caramelized onions.
Gain the right to overindulge when you pedal from one parked eating oasis to the next at this Saturday’s Food Truck Frenzy bike ride. The 12-mile sojourn, organized by Emerge Miami, starts at the Brickell Metrorail station before hitting up the 305’s tastiest food trucks, including Latin Burger & Taco, Jefe’s Original Fish Taco & Burger, Feverish Ice Cream, and Miso Hungry.
