It’s damn near impossible to ignore the fact that there’s an above-average number of luxury cars lumbering through our palm-lined streets. While many American cities still gawk at Lex coupes, the Beemers, and the Benzes, those who can afford exquisite rides in our city are all about the rumble of a Lamborghini engine, the decadence of a Rolls Royce Phantom, or the somewhat-understated sleekness of a Maserati. Though you usually turn green with envy when one of those decadent rides overtakes your Camry at the light, this weekend you can have a taste of the high life via Festivals of Speed. Bayfront Miami will play outdoor showroom to hot whips such as the uber-rare Ferrari FXX, an Aston Martin DBR9, and a slew of other exotic vehicles, motorbikes, and racing boats. Admission is $20, roughly 20 times cheaper than the monthly insurance on one of these road monsters. The festival goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,750 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
