Beware, Miamians. The zombie invasion is coming, and there’s not much time to prepare.
Prepare your awesome zombie costumes, that is. It’s the only way to blend in and not get your brains eaten during the South Florida Zombie Crawl.
Lenor Ryan — one of the event’s organizers and regional general manager of the Shops at Midtown — and her team wanted to show off the tastes of midtown, but because there are so many “taste of” events already, they would add a little twist. “We decided that since zombies are so popular, we would add that as the twist and that way make it a little different from just having a ‘Taste of Midtown,’ Ryan explains.
Because the Zombie Crawl takes place in late October, it’s a perfect way to ring in Halloween. There will be food tastings and, for those 21 and older, drink samples from participating lounges. “First, you’ll come in and go through a screening process where you actually get a neckband and wristband which shows whether or not you’re 21,” Ryan says, adding that from there, you’ll have the rest of the evening to roam the Fountain Plaza and wander from tent to tent sampling the fare.
