As the words Miami and NBA champions begin to sound natural together, it’s fair to say this city is ready for the next step: a three-on-three street basketball tournament open to everyone, hosted by the world’s largest athletic store. Foot Locker’s 3 on 3 Basketball Tour will be making eight stops throughout the nation, offering youths and adults a chance to compete against their peers for an opportunity to advance to the finals held this fall at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Participants on the first-place team will be given professional athlete treatment, with round-trip airfare to the finals, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and spending money. The tournament itself will be held today at Miami International Mall. Teams will be divided into seven divisions, such as Foot Locker Elite (open division for ages over nineteen) and Men’s and Women’s Competitive (eighteen and younger), allowing for fair competition between men and women of different age groups and abilities. Each registered team must have three to five players.
