You probably know Samantha Ronson better for her tabloid magazines and gossip site notoriety than for her skills as a DJ. For a while, even we played a game of is-she-or-is-she-not when her seemingly 24/7 companion, fallen starlet Lindsay Lohan, fueled speculation the two were romantically involved. And when the truth was finally revealed, Lohan’s status as a disgraced American sweetheart — vagina flashes, coke binges, and DUIs will do that to you — led to very little surprise she, er, swung that way.

But if anything good came of Ronson’s tumultuous relationship with Lohan, it was definitely the exposure. Despite Ronson’s familial celeb connections — her brother is DJ/producer Mark Ronson and her sister is designer Charlotte Ronson — she still didn’t gain her current state of fame until being coupled with Lohan, which made her a household name.

So when she spins at the G by Guess’ Ultimate Remix Tour this Friday at the Ramblas Plaza at Dolphin Mall, be sure to expect a big turnout. Are the crowds there to hear her DJ? Probably not. But don’t expect a cameo by Lohan — they broke up earlier this year. Do expect local DJ Troy Kurtz and special guest emcee DJ Irie. And all of this for free. Party starts at 8:30 p.m., no RSVP required.
