Fellow Miamians, it’s your favorite time of the year, the week when Comedy Central sends its best comedians to South Beach, not because any of them are looking for a paid vacation on the sunny shores of South Beach, but because Miami Beach is a comedy mecca. Well, if the year were 1950, maybe. Nonetheless, let’s enjoy the fruits of our year-round sunshine and bikini-clad beauties. In the past, the South Beach Comedy Festival would pack Miami Beach’s venues full of established and up-and-coming talent. This year’s lineup is more compact and features six comedy heavyweights: Joe Rogan, W. Kamau Bell, Chelsea Handler, Chris Hardwick, Nick Swarsden, and Mike Epps, whose performances will take place April 3 through April 5 at either the Fillmore (1700 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) or the Colony Theatre (1040 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach). Hardwick will host @Midnight Live at the Colony Theatre, and Handler will stop in SoBe on her tour Uganda Be Killing Me. There will also be special performances at the Fillmore’s Backstage with Mad Cat Theatre and the Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail. Ticket prices range depending upon the performer and venue.
