In case you haven’t noticed (and you probably haven’t), the Florida Marlins are making some noise in the National League postseason race. And in case you didn’t think it possible for them to make a serious run (and you probably didn’t), you should rethink that position, because the Fish seem to be for real. They’ve started strong out of the second-half gate. They’re at the cusp of a playoff berth. They’re still drawing only about 12 people to their games. But it’s all good. As Kevin Costner once told us: “If Hanley keeps hitting the crap out of the ball, they will come” (or something to that effect). In the meantime, you should jump on the bandwagon before it blows up. Florida takes on the Houston Astros this Monday night at LandShark Stadium. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m.
Mon., Aug. 10, 7:10 p.m.; Tue., Aug. 11, 7:10 p.m.; Wed., Aug. 12, 7:10 p.m.; Thu., Aug. 13, 7:10 p.m., 2009
