Dodge ball, tug-of-war, and relay races evoke nostalgia for eagerly anticipated elementary school and summer camp competition. But don’t be fooled. Field day is no longer just for kids! This Saturday, teams of servers and bartenders from South Beach’s hottest nightclubs, bars, and restaurants will go head-to-head schoolyard-style at the fifth annual Beach Ball Festival. Watch them revel in friendly rivalry while enjoying music spun by Mr. Sandman and banter provided by the day’s MC, A3TV’s and Deco Drive’s own Buster, AKA “The Voice of South Beach.”
If you’re not the type to get riled up, you can also find an oasis of relaxation at this year’s host venue, the Gansevoort Beach Club, where a luxurious beachfront lounge complete with cabanas and beds will serve you some much-needed R&R. The nostalgia happens from noon to 5 p.m.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $18,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
