Traffic woes aside, we are very lucky here in Miami. Unlike folks in a lot of white-bread, steak-and-potatoes America, we can walk outside any day and experience a unique confluence of cultures. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the music that fills our clubs and bars.
This Thursday, the cultural mixologists of Suénalo will bring their homegrown sound from the streets of Little Havana to an incongruous spot: the dusky chambers of Dublin-inspired Waxy O’Connor’s Irish Pub. Suénalo’s ensemble fuses bits and pieces of Afro-Cuban, Latin, R&B, rock, and hip-hop into a uniquely Miami sound. They have performed extensively around South Florida as well as at national music festivals, including the Latin Funk Festival, Ashefest, and Langerado. The music begins at 10 p.m., and there’s no cover.
