Think that chihuahuas are nothing more than yappy little mutts? Think again. Sure their image has been co-opted by celebutantes stuffing them into purses for the better part of a decade, but those dogs can move. And this Thursday, the Seminole Casino Hollywood is looking for owners of little dogs that can hoof it for their Chihuahua Races.
Prizes range from $500 cash and a trophy for the first prizewinner, and a respectable $200 and $100 in Casino play for runner-ups. But don’t turn your pup into a modern-day Chihuahua Secretariat just for the prize, do it for the glory.
If you think your chihuahua has the fighting spirit of a champion racer, come out to the Seminole Casino parking lot on this Thursday at 12:30 p.m. The owner of the dog must be 21 or older. Qualifying rounds begin at 2 p.m., thus beginning your chihuahua’s journey to racing greatness.
