Hear that? Listen for the notes of a cool, breezy melody dancing around your head. Imagine the stems of a single bar note leaping from one imaginary cloud to another. The moment is soft and utterly calming.
The image alone should be enough to evoke a sense of relaxation and coolness. Despite the icky-sticky heat from a typical Miami summer day, there are plenty of activities to keep you from perspiring too much. With Hot Nights Cool Jazz, the air conditioning inside the enclosed venue won’t be the only thing to send chills down your spine. Performing this weekend, Broward College professor and musician Fernando Ulibarri will play pieces from his latest album, Transform. Ulibarri will be accompanied by bandmates Jim Gasior on keyboard, Josh Allen on bass guitar, and John Yarling on drums.

Fri., Aug. 22, 7-9 p.m., 2014
