Even though it’s summer, one has to work hard to play hard. Sure, Miamians live where others vacation, but paradise is still a luxury, not an entitlement. So when Miami asks you to party, you party. Hard. And this weekend, Miami is asking you to party at the Brickell Independence Music and Arts Festival.
The heat might be unbearable, but it’s difficult to resist Miami when being offered 15 hours of live art, music, and lighting. Oh, and this is as close as you’ll get to Ultra Music Festival until next year. Hosted by Damian Pinto (AKA “the Voice” of Ultra), the Brickell Independence Music and Arts Festival will include more than 50 DJs and performers. Contests, live painting, and more fun under the sun are included in this epic party.
The fest runs from 1 p.m. to 4 a.m. this Saturday at one of Brickell’s largest pool party venues, Finnegan’s River (401 SW Third Ave., Miami). Eager partygoers should arrive early to capitalize on a discounted cover of $10, available until 4 p.m. After that, the cost increases to $20. And luckily for Miamians, who know a thing or two about beaches and bikinis, beach attire is suggested. Get your best flip-flops, your bootiest of shorts, and your lightest shirt ready for the all-day event. Call 786-439-6387 or visit finnegansbars.com.
