Depending on who you ask, there are many snakes roaming the streets of Miami, but not the kind that travel on their bellies. We’re referring to the ones that walk on two feet and control government funding, and you can see those slimy characters any day of the year. Today through May 11, the largest traveling reptile exhibit in the world, Reptiles: The Beautiful and the Deadly, is on display at Miami Metrozoo to give you a look at some real live members of the Reptilia class of animals.

The 5,000-square-foot exhibit includes turtles, crocodilians, lizards, and snakes from across the globe. You can touch the harmless snakes, but you’ll have to admire the snapping turtles, venomous cobra, and African Gaboon only from afar. And if no snake is harmless to you, there’s a myriad of reptile-theme activities that don’t involve the possibility of poison. Admission is $13.95 for adults, $9.95 for kids three to 12, and free for tykes under two. The zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
