$7,500

Sure, it wasn’t the singing and skipping at the beginning of Laverne & Shirley, and it wasn’t a woman crooning “Thank you for being a friend” à la geriatric chick-sitcom Golden Girls, but when the first few chords of that familiar ditty played, we knew the BFFs in our heads were on Sex and the City. Since the curtain closed on HBO’s most popular romantic comedy, Sunday nights have never been the same (Desperate Housewives or not). We’ve found ourselves missing Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and especially Samantha. Who else could say things such as “I will wear whatever and blow whomever I want as long as I can breathe and kneel” without blushing? Friday the winsome foursome hits the silver screen, and the unofficial rulebook says, “Get ye a cosmopolitan,” before stepping into the theater.

Heading to AMC at Sunset Place? Hit up Blue Martini (900 S. Miami Ave., Miami) for a black cherry cosmo guaranteed to loosen up you Charlotte types before the flick. Prefer to hit the theater on Lincoln Road? You’ll find Samantha types at SushiSamba Dromo (600 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach) loading up on Sambatinis. And if you choose to catch the flick in Aventura, The Grand Lux Café (19575 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura) does a version of the cosmopolitan that will put you into a lovelorn Carrie-ish tailspin. Sweet.
